Can I take leaves off my tomato plants if too few flowers are forming b/c I over-fertilized? Will that help?

  1. Yes you can.  I remove some of the stems because a lot of the energy goes to the stems that do not produce flowers.


  2. An interesting idea, but no, it will just encourage the plant to grow more leaves.  

  3. Yes you can but take the stems or leaves off that does not have flowering or fruit.  Since you say your plant is growing very well the very bottom stems  can be removed and discarded in compost pile.  This will keep the plant from touching the ground and getting a fungus.  Heres a really good article all about growing tomatoes and pruning them.  I have done this and the plants are really doing good just don't go overboard at first,  I did and lost the plant so just take your time.
