  1. I agree with   TASH      Mellatonin is also an anti-oxidant and is prescribed by anti-aging docs. !!!!

I would start out with 1 mg. only though!!! Especially since you have no real sleep problem!! You may build up to 3 mgs. if you feel daring or feel as though you have the need!!

  2. A shortage of melatonin in the brain has been reported in autopsies of those with Alzheimer's disease. It is an essential biochemical, not only for rest and for your internal clock but for health in general. So, there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking it even though you have no sleep issue right now. Depending upon how old you are, of course. As a young person, your body produces all that you need, until you reach around age 45+, and then you'll want to start supplementing with 1mg or so per day. By the time you DO have sleep issues, you could be taking 3 mg per night, and you'll be quite thankful that you have it.

  3. Thomas,

You dont need pills to help you sleep!

In fact, the last thing you need is a dependency on pills, on top of your sleep problem.

There are natural ways to get great, deep sleep.

    Try this guide:

    getbettersleeptonight.com

it worked pretty well for me, and some friends ive sent it to.

  4. Melatonin is good for your body in the right doses, it is best to take it at night, because it does make you drowsy. It is like any vitamins or minerals, if your body has enough, it will just excrete the excess out in the urine if it is not-needed, but it can also prevent and establish a good sleep pattern, that is always good to wake up rested. If you take RX's though you need to ask your PCP and your pharmacists to be sure no inter-reactions with other medications! Just ask, it's only one question, and they really don't mind, they love to see people taken OTC rather than asking for a prescription.

a great great OTC for sleep is Melatonin 3 mg.,

It is working wonderful for me at times.

I know lots of people who use it all have great results!

A B12 shot is the best every 2 weeks, if you have a place to get it, but taking B 500 mcg is great too! For oral use.

you don't have to worry about being an addict just because you are taking medications, over 80% of people taking a RX, when the MD D/C or changes it have no problem, I have transitioned to and from many meds over 16 years and have never craved, or stomped a fit over it, and I have much anxiety! LOL and stress, but has never bothered me.

There is a good reason why people need to know the underlining cause of the anxiety though, so as to avoid it when all possible, and remember there is a difference between stress and anxiety, and stress tends to turn out insomniacs not anxiety,

if so you'd be laying there worrying in FEAR of harm to yourself, to be the cause of no sleep!

Stress really has to either be hit head on with armor or avoided at all cost, like a bad EX!

The more you talk to ones who have the more you learn about it, a therapist goes off of text books, when people go from experience! Best of luck to you, God Bless.
