Im 18 but my bank accounts under my dads name, but everything i worked for since I was 16 is in that account. I dont have a bank card.. the only thing I have is a checking book. I want to take about 700.00 out of there. Can I just go to the bank with ID and my checking book and ask one of the workers there to take out $500-700.00. would I need my dads permission? i mean its my bank account right im 18 and i worked for that money. And would the teller actually take out $500-700 and hand it to me right there and then?

thankyou

  1. If your name isn't on the account, you can't legally touch that money.  If both names are on the account listed as   x*x OR x*x, you can get the money.  If it is listed as x*x And x*x, you can't get it without his signature along with yours.

  2. If you are not an account holder on the account you can not withdraw the funds.  You need your father to be there in order to get any information on the account.  I would suggest going to the bank and asking if your name is on the account.
