Question:

Can I take my 'behind the wheel test' if I have a crack in my windshield?

The crack isn't that big or wide, it doesn't interfere with my driving whatsoever but I don't know how the people at the dmv would feel. the crack is about 8 inches long.

  1. You won't be allowed to take your behind the wheel test regardless of what state you live in because it is considered a driving hazard.


  2. only if the crack does not obscure your vision - ie not in your line of vision - it doesn't matter about the passenger.

  3. I think it depends on state law.

  4. i would think you would be ok, but just in case B.S. a little. tell them it just happened and it is scheduled to get fixed next week.

  5. not sure on the exact length but i know NYS law is if its on the drivers side it cant exceed 6 or 7 inch. (not sure but close to it )
