You see I'm at the end of my first month of using birth control (like 2 more days and I'm done). I had unprotected s*x today and I'm not sure if the birth control fully kicked in yet. I am on my period. I started bleeding monday August 18(I have an irregular period, thats one of the reason why my doctor put me on birth control). Is it still possible for me to get pregnant? If so...is it okay for me to use the morning after pill and my birth control on the same day?

  2. If you started it on the first day of your period like they recommend, or even during your period then you should have been fully protected. As long as you took them at the right time every day, or within the time period that will be stated in the booklet that comes with the pill then you should be fine.

If you still want to take it for peace of mind then it will be fine- I have done it. However, I would advise discussing it with your doctor/chemist/family planning or whoever you will get the morning after pill from.

  3. If you've been on them for almost a month and you have been taking them CORRECTLY you should be protected against pregnancy. You don't generally need to use condoms during your pill free week when you have a withdrawal bleed.

I wouldn't personally take the morning after pill if you've been taking the normal contraceptive pill correctly for the past month.
