Can I take my Ipod to the dentist?

Question

I'm going to have my teeth deep cleaned and my wisdom teeth taken out...so I can get braces...

the problem is that I'M DEATHLY AFRAID.

I'm 16, last week they took x-rays of my teeth and I was shaking.

Can I take my Ipod?

My mom says you're not supposed to....

Can I take them? Is it safe?

im pretty sure it is., if not im more than 100% sure the dentist will tell you its not safe

Of course it's fine. It doesn't interfere with anything in the office. If that will lessen your fears, then by all means it's ok.

Actually i would highly recommend taking your iPod... if I didn't have mine when they took my wisdom teeth out, I would have been freaking out... an iPod is perfectly safe... its not going to hurt anything... and if for some weird reason your dentist doesnt want you to have it, he will kindly tell you to put it away... I think you should take it, and while they are taking out your wisdom teeth, concentrate on your music, and hum along or something... it helped me a lot.

Take it with you and talk to your dentist. Tell him/her that you are scared and that the music will help you relax and would it be alright if you listen to music while you are having your dental work done. I have been to dentists that actually have headphones in there office and each patient is given disposable earpieces to use during procedures, so there really should not be a problem.

Another thing to think about is maybe calling your dentist or regular doctor and telling them you are having anxiety about getting this done, there are medications that you can take before hand that will help you be calm so you do not freak out, the dentist doesn't want you to spaz and puke on him... think  about it, and talk to mom and maybe have her call the dentist or even call your regular doctor about you being this nervous and scared.
