  2. You can go to Calais from Dover...but not from the International terminal at Waterloo...although I think it has changed now to another station.

    The Eurostar is a high-speed passenger train which runs from London Waterloo via Ashford to Paris, Lille or Brussels.

    There is a car-shuttle service operated by Eurotunnel which takes cars and their passengers (inside the cars) through the channel tunnel in specially-designed trains. It runs between a terminal near Folkestone, England and Coquelles, France (between Calais and Bolougne, and slightly inland).
