You may have to show a city license for your pet as well as current vaccination records.

I have crossed the border many times with a cat and I don't think that they every wanted to see papers for the cat even though we had them up to date.  It is best to have proof of rabies shots just in case you are asked.

Cats need the same papers from a veterinarian showing the date, the name and serial number of the rabies vaccine administered and the duration.

I took my took cats from NYC to Toronto, passing the border at Niagara Falls late at night.

The officer did not question us about the cats even though the big cage was in the back seat of the car.

We made sure that their Vaccinations certificate were in order. Especially make sure the rabbie shot is not too old.
