I want to major in biology, so I want to take the biology and chemistry ap tests, but I just took the honors classes not AP classes. If I pass will I get credit for it in college? And should I do that?(take the AP tests without taking the classes).

They don't give AP biology or chemistry in my school.

  1. You can take AP tests without taking the class, but you'll have to study a lot more than if you had been in the AP class.  For example, I'm considering taking the Music Theory AP test next year, even though I'm not enrolled in the class.  Since your school doesn't offer the classes, you'll probably have to make special arrangements to take the tests (and possibly have to test at a different high school).

If you score a 4 or 5 on the tests, you'll probably get credit for them at most schools.  Some schools will accept a score of 3, but it varies.  Other schools won't give you credit for anything less than a 5.

    Check out  http://www.collegeboard.com/student/test...

for the different components of each AP test, and the percentages of people who get each score.  (To find this, go to the scroll-down subjects menu on the left side of the screen, and click the one you need to know about.)

    Good luck!!!

  2. sure u can,you just have to study alot more.
