You should be able to take the driving test in any car that is legal by the state. Your temp. tags are issued when you purchase a car until your real tags come in after the title is issued or transfered. I assume these are the tags you are talking about. You might call your local Department or Motor Vehicles to find out for sure. I don't think you would have any problems, but it wouldn't hurt to find out.
