I took CVS brand Robitussin called Tussin CF Cough & Cold. I was wondering if I could take Tylenol Extra Strength because I have a bit of a headache now.

The active ingredients are Dextromethorphan, Guaifenesin, and Phenylephrine. (Thats in the Tussin CF)

  1. Call the pharmacy

  2. Yes...

    They are compatible.

  3. yes, they are fine to be taken together as long as you don't have any medical conditions that would be aggravated by taking these meds...like hypertension, heart conditions, or liver disease etc or if you are taking any prescription medications that would also include these ingredients. But always consult your pharmacist as they should know your specific drug history & give you more specific instruction/advice.

  4. Yes because the active ingrediant in tylenol (acetometaphen) is not in Robitussin.

  5. Unless you have an allergy to acetaminophin, which is the only ingredient in regular tylenol, you will be fine. Tylenol is compatible with almost anything  as long as the other medicine you are taking doesn't contain acetaminophin.
