Can I tile directly onto Red Guard memebrane or do I need a scratch coat??

It is for my small basement bathroom. I have used blueboard (not the best I know). I am debating whther to use felt/chicken wire/mortar. Also have done research on Red Guard and wanted to know if I could just tile directly on that with thinset.

You have me confused.

Keep it simple: Hardyboard (or greenboard), Thinset and then your tile.
