  1. you will Probably be OK, I was thinking Exploders had frame mount hitches Already , if it don't you would be better off getting one, then you will Sure.

  2. Shouldn't be a problem. Check out the underside of the bumper. Ford used to re-enforce the hitch part of the bumper with 1/4 inch steel bolted directly to the frame. If it is re-enforced like that, you can pull it with no problem at all.

  3. NO!. get a #2 hitch attached to the car frame. also brake and running lights. also check your insurance coverage.

  4. Most bumper hitches are rated for 2000 lbs or less so if your boat weight is less than 2k and the bumper isnt rusted it prob will be ok....

If it was me I would use a frame hitch class 3 or higher that way you know you are safe!

  5. Your towing weight limitations are stamped into the bumper next to the hitch.  My experience was that the bumper hitch was too high, causing the rear of the trailer to ride too close to the ground.

  6. You should be just fine towing it. I would recommend adding a real towing hitch and not to use the bumper to tow with.

  7. You would be better of getting a heavy duty hitch put on. That way when you look around you will still see your boat.
