I came to U.S from India on H1B. I got married and my husband applied for my green card as a dependent on him. We have recieved our EADs 2years ago and I'm now on my EAD and no longer on my H1B. I am contemplating divorce. I just discovered that my I485 application will be cancelled after a divorce since it dependent on my marriage to my husband. I am working at a good company. Would it be possible to transfer my application to my company and make it employer dependent? And will this keep my I485 application from being cancelled?

  1. You have the choice to let your employer process your permanent resident status if it is not possible on your personal effort.

  2. Check with the HR department of your company - there are too many variables that you have not addressed, including fraud.
