Can I transfer my probation to another city? How do I do it?

I live in Michigan and I'm on probation for a misdemeanor. I get off of probation on December 12th as long as my fines are paid. I can't find a job where I am living now, and I'm going to be starting school in a city about an hour or two away in January. Some friends and I plan on getting an apartment there. I've also got a couple job offers there. So, would I be able to transfer my probation to the other city? Will it be hard?

This is up to the Probation Department and the judge.

Should be pretty easy.  Just talk to your probation officer.  As long as you have been compliant, they shouldn't have an issue.

Sure, just speak with your probation officer and he/she will explain what they can do.

Inform your PO and from there they will have to set a court date to speak to the judge and they will have to contact the court where you will be living to set an arrangement to have you on probation there.
