Can I transfer my vehicle lease if I move to Hawaii?

  1. It's best to check with your lease company but if the company is licensed to do business in Hawaii, there should be no problem. Your lease contract may also tell you, in the small print.

    In any case, you need to inform your lease company because the sale tax portion of your monthly payment will change, up or down, according to the rates in the new state.

  3. I have a lease and if your taking the vehicle with you then yes you can transfer the lease Im pretty sure. I have a Honda and once the lease is started it isn't out of the dealer ship any more its coming straight from the company. In my case Honda Financial. In that case at the end of the lease you can turn the car back into a dealership of the same manufacturer or trade it in at another dealer ship if you have equity on the car. If your not taking it with you, your only option I see is to break lease or buy out the car and sell it.
