Can I transplant my English Ivy right now?

I live in Oklahoma and the tempature is around 100. I have a flowerbed that needs to be totally removed as everything but the English Ivy has died. I want to plant the ivy in pots and do away with the flower bed and just plant grass and allow all the grass that is growining in the bed already to fill in the space. Is now a bad time to do this or if I water daily will the ivy survive?
