Can I transplant my asparagus now? I am in Zone 5 PA.?

I have a small asparagus patch that I just put in this past spring. It doing well and has lots of ferns. However, I just cleared out more space in my garden and would like to move it there. Can I move it now with out killing it or upsetting it? Should I just wait til next spring?? Thanks.

I'm in the same zone. we always did them in spring, just keep in mind after you move them you won't get any asparagus that year.
