  1. yep, lake Garda and Venice (and almost all Italian city, especially the northern ones) are full of transport device: buses, trains and taxi.

  2. Yes, of corse you can.

  3. There are two train stations on Lago Garda (Peschiera del Garda or Desenzano/Sirmione) on the Venice to Milan train line - and frequent trains (it's about two hours). From either city there are ferries that can take you to other towns on the lake or you can take the bus.

Train schedules can be researched at:  http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html

The boat schedules are available at: http://www.navigazionelaghi.it/eng/gar/n...

If you're going to the north end of the lake, you might consider taking the train to Verona and transferring to a bus there - it's quicker.

A good site for hotels in Italy is: http://www.venere.com/

but there are lots of resources for finding places to stay. It shouldn't be too crowded in September.

All the towns around the lake are nice, but I highly recommend Sirmione and Malcesine.

  4. I think that a train will be you can visit www.trenitalia.it

  5. You can take the train to Garda but cannot circumnavigate the lake by train. The lake is big... ake sure your hotel is close by.
