Question:

Can I travel to Canada via USA?

In october I'm going to be working for a year in Vancouver. I was looking at flying into Chicago from London on a return ticket 7months later(The latest i can book my return flight) And making my own way across the USA to vancouver. Will i have any problems with immigration doing this. I will have proof i am returning to the UK with my flight ticket, my working visa and letter for Canada. And i intend on buying a separate multi-city flight from Chicago to Vegas to Vancouver.

Will this be a problem or am i going to be ok?

Should i just book a London to Chicago and Vancouver to London ticket instead?

Any informative help would be most welcome

thanks

  1. You will have no problems with this - you will be given a green visa upon entering the US, and will give this back when you leave. Connecting flights to Vancouver will be no problem.

    Good luck!

  2. If you are eligible to travel under the visa waiver program you have only to show this and your passport at US points of entry and departure. Have fun.  :0)

  3. make sure you have a passport and its upto date.
