I have a British passport which means I do not need a visa for the USA but will I need one for the bahamas or cuba and is this hard to get and how much does it cost and what is the process? Also, how would I go about getting over to cuba or the bahamas? Is it easy or must I book in advance? Can someone explain the whole process etc?

Also, how long does it take to get from the north part of florida to the south?

  1. UK citizens do not require a visa to visit the Bahamas (as long as you leave within 8 months). Visit:

I assume you are planning on leaving Florida from Miami or Fort Lauderdale. You can fly to the islands (American Airlines, among several others (www.aa.com). The lowest  fare in July is $144 one-way. You can also take a cruise/ferry for about $100.00 (www.discoverycruise.com). As for Cuba, well you're out of luck as there are no commercial passenger flights out of the U.S. to Cuba (with a few exceptions - but you'd have to jump some hoops to arrange it). You can, however, go to the Bahamas and fly to Cuba from there. I strongly suggest  that you book in advance. Every plane I've flown this year has been FULL. And the cruises fill up very quickly too. The distance from Jacksonville FL to Ft. Lauderdale is 326 miles and and takes about 5 hours.

  2. Im not positive, but it takes like 6/7 hours to get to the southern end of Florida, and.. You can not get to Cuba from the US! Bahamas yes, Cuba, we do not fly there.

  3. You cannot get a direct flight from anywhere in USA to Cuba...in fact, even if you fly from Canada, the flight path has to go around the US just to enter Cuba. As for the Bahamas, there shouldn't be a problem. I am not sure about the North to South of Florida question.
