I have received my approval notices and the welcome to america letter (I-797) I think. The thing is I've been waiting a while and I need to travel out of the U.S. before a certain date. What if the green card does not arrive before that. Do I have to have the physical green card in my hand before I travel?

  1. well no i have a lawyer and he siad any time durning your staying in the usa waiting for your green card you can not travel outside the country

bc of immigration will not let you back in the usa

once you leave ur not going to come back

  2. DO NOT LEAVE THE COUNTRY until you have the actual green card. Until you have that, you cannot be guaranteed entry back to the USA (even if you have the "welcome to America" letter).

  3. i would wait.

but if you really need to get out, talk to any of the uscis agents and they will help you.

find the number in www.uscis.gov at the very bottom under contact us link. they are really nice and know a lot about the immigration

  4. yes their is an easy access back across the border to mexico.
