Can I trust Etsy.com?

Question

I want to post some of my Handmade Jewelry on Etsy.com, but I was burned by e-bay. They said one thing and after I posted my work I got all these hidden fees, even after I cancelled my account they kept charging me, I had to cancelled my credit card. I want to know if there are any other charges besides the $0.20 a posting for 4 mounts and the 3% for selling an item. I would like to here from people who have an account with Etsy.com. Any ideas for a first time user of Etsy.com

Etsy does not hit you with hidden fees.

You should know, however, that there are many, many people offering jewelry on Etsy.

Ive been on Etsy for several months now.  Ive not encountered any hidden fees.  The Etsy community is 1 million + but friendly and helpeful.  Administration gets swamped but I have found them to be responsive to my questions.  I too got burned by ebay and dont really sell there anymore.  I agree with the other poster that jewelry can be a tough category because there are so many, but if you have something unique or different and work to promote your shop, you will do fine.  Dont expect to open your shop one day and have tons of sales the next.  It took 3 months for my first sale.  I have been working to promote my shop and blogging.  Just remember, when you sign up that name is your shop name, so dont go with too wierd of spellings but being different and funny will help with name recognition.  A couple funny ones off the top of my head are PussDaddy, Least Likely2Breed and BreathofFrenchAir
