Can I trust wooden roller coasters?

Question

I'm going to Cedar Point soon, and on the website there was at least one ride that was wooden (i didnt look at them all yet)

wooden roller coasters kinda freak me out, since theyre made of wood, and i worry thet theyll break, but my mom said sometimes those are the BEST coasters

sooooo what do u think of wooden coasters?

Wooden roller coasters are as safe as metal ones, maybe safer because of more inspections.  They beat the c**p out of me though.

the only bad thing about wooden roller coasters to me is, they give me a massive headache. they may be rickety, but honey they are the most fun in my book.

They ARE the best, because they are built to last a very long time. Just don't think of it as a wooden ride, think of it as just another metal ride. Like the Viper at Six Flags in Chicago, they are awesome.

I believe there is only one wooden roller coaster at Cedar Point.  I think it is called the Mine Ride.  I rode it a lot when I was a kid.  I would have to agree with your mom.  I bet that is one of the safer roller coasters.  Just be warned that I remember that roller coaster was REALLY bumpy!!  The metal coasters are much more smooth.  I also think that part of making the Mine Ride scary is the fact that it is wooden.. they want you to be scared and wonder if you are safe.  I remember thinking about that when I was a kid.  If this is your first time riding a coaster I would suggest going on the Cork s***w first.  That was my first coaster.  I loved it!  I was terrified but after I got off it I wanted to go again.

I love wooden coasters. I think you can trust them at my local park I constantly go on one that was built in 1981 and I have never had a problem.

they are cool and you ride differently on them than steel coasters. you shouldn't be freaked out by wooden coasters because amusement parks wouldn't have them if they weren't safe and they also get inspected.

Wooden Rollercoasters are great. They seem really unsterdy but they are fine to ride. I've never heard of a wooden rollercoaster just breaking while people were riding it. Don't worry about it. Have fun and scream your head off! lol
