  1. It all really depends on your doctor and the hospital you will be delivering at. Both my doctor and my hospital wouldn't even let you try to do a VBAC.

  2. believe me, if it ruptures you will know it. I have a friend who had a successful vbac 18 months after her c-section, then 7 years later she had another baby and had a uterine rupture during labor. She and the baby were fine, but she said that she had never experienced pain like that before, she felt it even with an epidural.

A vbac is usually safe, and as long as you do not have an induction your chances of a rupture are very slim. The danger to a mother and baby in a vbac are virtually equal to the dangers from a repeat c section. Good luck!!

  3. well some doctors will let you others won't so just ask your OB and see what he says

  4. This is a question for your OB.

Unless there are extenuating circumstances, most OBs will allow at least an attempt at VBAC if you've ONLY had one C-section.

If you've had two c-sections, it's much less likely that the doctor would allow you to try VBAC.

As I understand it, current medical knowledge says that the risks of a VBAC are about balanced with the benefits if you've only had one c-section.  But if you've had two c-sections, the risks quickly grow with no additional increase in benefits, and therefore the risks greatly exceedthe benefits.

  5. I guess if your OB says it's ok you can try it. I did it with no problems and know several other women who have done the same. You would have to ask your OB about the whole rupturing thing because I am really not sure about that but I think there is always a chance of that happening.
