  1. well, you can try getting straight A's, plus taking a few extra online courses to raise your GPA. thats what i did. Also, make sure you're good in everything else, like community service, etc. you might not get it super high, but you can still make it better than 2.0. or you can talk to a guidance counselor, for like grade forgiveness and stuff

  2. It is most likley too late. You can raise your GPA, but you do the math it wont be by much. That said colleges will still see your final GPA and if your senior year was stellar they  might take a chance. Also this will help your odds if you apply again after you graduate.

Best thing to do is realize you made a horrible mistake and you wil have to pay for it. Best thing to do (if you don't get into college) is to get a job and study on the side (see what you can do about getting into college from this situation. Study for SAT and/or ACT and bring those up and apply to community college or something).

If you do get into college work you know you need to work harder.

Best of luck and work hard no matter what your situation.

  3. Yes, you're overall GPA will increase if you do really well. It may not increase it by a landslide, but it will make a difference. As far as already applying for colleges, your college will get your high school transcript and see your overall GPA, which includes your senior year.

  4. If you work really, really hard you can. If you put your mind to it, you can do it :)

  5. Keep in mind that 3/4 of your grades for high school have already been recorded, and all of senior year will only be 1/4 of your grades, so even if you got straight As this year, it wouldn't make an enormous difference in your overall GPA.  A 2.5 is probably as well as you could possibly do by graduation.  And you are correct that at least half of that will occur after you have applied to college, so it won't really help you in that regard.

However, it is worth proving to yourself that you can do it.  First of all, it will do wonders for your self-esteem.  Secondly, even if you start out at a community college, it will make college much easier for you if you start out having done well before graduating in high school.  Don't give up because one goal is out of reach.  There are plenty of other reasons to try hard as a senior.

  6. Like the other person said - you must work ready hard.

  7. yea, well you can still do it, and maybe if u have time to take a summer course at a college it will count as AP when you transfer it, so that can help too...

  8. Hey im in the same situation ur in buddy and have been wondering the same thing....so basically what we have here are 2 options....

.....option 1.) We could attend a community college for 1-2 yrs then transfer to any college of choice.

    or

....option 2.) We put 110% into our senior year classes, achieve high SAT/ACT scores, and write very compelling recommendation letters, and faithfully ride out the year and wait for our acceptance/denial/deferred letters!

....so to say the best of luck to both of us WE ARE CLASS OF 09!!!

  9. If you applied to colleges before you got any of your senior grades, then no, you can't turn that around.  Even one semester of senior year grades won't make too much of a difference.  It's too late to correct for three years of bad grades.  Any college that accepts you with that GPA is only out to get as much of your money as possible before you fail out.  Go to community college for two year, get a much better GPA, prove to colleges you can handle the work, and you can transfer to good schools that wouldn't even consider you now.

  10. It's never too late. See if you can get tutoring. It helped me in math. Good luck.

  11. yes !   you are actually in a good position,  do your very best , please !   what colleges like to see is improvement in your senior year.  this will look good.

straight A's man,  good luck !

  12. If you get As in every class senior you might be able to get it up to a 2.2-2.5 (maybe, assuming your gpa is currently somewhere between 1.75 and 1.99).  That's the highest I see it being.

  13. try your best to do so. It will be very hard to bring up that gpa but once you go to college you have a chance to prove that you can handle it.

  14. It is not too late.  Work hard to the very end.  Your final transcript has to be sent out to the colleges you're interested in.  Your hard work to raise your GPA will not go unnoticed.  DO NOT GIVE UP! <33
