Can I turn my oil boiler off in the summer and back on it the winter without damaging it?

I heard it will leak when turned back on after sitting all summer.

  1. unless your boiler is home made by a shoemaker, you will not have the problem you stated. i would suggest that you drain some of the sediment out of the boiler before doing your summer shut down.


  2. I always do this.  No, it does not cause it to leak nor does it have anything to do with leaking.
