Can I use NM-B wiring for a short run under my house?

I have some NM-B wire and I was wondering if I could run a short lead(25 feet) under my house from my fuse panel to an outlet in my kitchen? Would this be up to code? The location is dry and there is a good moisture barrier. No basement, just earth with black plastic.

thx

  1. As long as it is supported every 4-1/2 feet, and protected where it penetrates the plates, you'll be fine. As long as you don't "double tap" a breaker; and, if it is going to a counter location, you must use #12 AWG, on a 20 AMP breaker. It must also be GFCI protected, either at the receptacle, or at the overcurrent protection.

  2. Yes.you should be fine just as long as it is dry.
