  1. I think so. I would recommend sawdust. Its now expensive to buy and its safe for your bunny. Hope this helps!

  2. I use shredded paper and carefresh for the litterboxes. I think you should be fine, I use paper on the bottom and sprinke carefresh over the top. I know the ink isnt toxic but I dont like them laying on it.

  3. Shredded newspaper is okay and so is regular white paper. The only trouble is newspaper has harmful inks and both aren't very absorbent. I prefer to use CareFresh and Soft-Sorbet mixed together which dosen't harm them any by mixing them up in fact it makes it softer and more absorbent, but both of them by themselves is just as good. Soft-Sorbent

is made by the brand Kaytee while CareFresh is made by Absoption Corp. Both do have websites just incase you are still unsure. If you plan to use shavings use only the aspen kind, others can cause respritory problems, but watch out for red noses which means they may be allergic to it but don't be alarmed. Just swap to a different bedding and dont use aspen again. If the red noses dont go away take them to a vet. For more rabbit information go to www.rabbitsnrodents.com they are very helpful. To get this brand of bedding you can find it at a local PetCo,PetSmart,WalMart,or just a regular pet store. I hope you find what you need. :)

  4. Too much ink can harm the rabbit. He will eat the news paper. And it does not catch smell, so its really not doing anything. I would buy hay (they can eat it, or nest in it) or some type of litter.

  5. If you are using a local newspaper, call and ask what kind of ink the paper uses.  some have gone to the safer inks, while others have stayed with the older more toxic sorts of ink.  The older inks can be very toxic.  Please make sure that the ink is safe and then it ought to be OK, as long as your bunnies don't eat the paper.  I have lost a rabbit to respiratory problems, so I think it's better to be safe than sorry.
