Can I use OSB instead of drywall on the walls in the garage and garden shed?

  1. If the garage is attached to the house, then no.I assume the shed isn't, so you can.

    You must, in most places, use 5/8 sheetrock which is firecode.You can then put OSB over the sheetrock if you want.

    Local building codes may specify  interior walls to be certain materials as part of a fire protection system.

  4. Drywall acts as a fire stop.Besides osb would look yuk and catches allot of dirt.Check your building code.
