Can I use Paypal without a bank account or credit card?

Is it possible to deposit money to it without one, and could you with stuff directly off of it?

No. You have to have a bank account.

No.  When signing up for paypal, you must give them a valid bank account number.  This bank account is where the money comes out of when you purchase something on sites like ebay and also where money is deposited when you sell something.
