  1. If you mean the normal stereo connector cables used (usually red/white RCA connectors) for analog sound ... you can use them, but they won't work as well as proper 75 ohm coaxial cables. Impedence mismatch issues give problems on longer cables (round off the digital pulse) ... but they will work in a pinch particulalry if the cables are kept short.

    That said, a proper coaxial cable for digital audio is inexpensive. Why not buy one as soon as convenient and connect up right?


  2. x ray man is correct! but you can still use the component hookup for better video,red,green,blue, this is your best option for picture quality! unless i am missing something here! you do have component hookup i'm sure, it is superior to s video!!

  4. coaxial carries all signals sound and picture... "RCA" cable split sound left/ right (white/red) and video (yellow)... if you use s video do not connect the (yellow) "RCA".  s video is round pin in hole that seperates the video (picture).
