Can I use U.S. dollars in Baja California or is the Peso preferred?

I'm taking a trip down to Rosarito and Ensenanda this weekend and would like to know if I can use the U.S. dollar in either place. I know Baja is a pretty tourist heavy area in general and the dollar can be used freely in TJ but I don't know if that's true further south.

I'm hoping to get an idea of how much money need to convert to Pesos before I leave. Also, if the dollar is acceptable, does it have more leverage in Baja than the Peso (better service, attention, deals, etc.) or are they treated about the same?

when it comes to money.Convert your dollars in Baja, or just use dollars. It was ten to one today. Not much leverage these days.We are all treated the same, its a democracy.

peso is preferred but exchanging is not that hard right?

psshhh i ant mexican but i know it is possible to use US dollar but to be on the safe side maybe you should exchange it
