Can I use Visa Electron in the Domincan Republic?

Going in 2 weeks but will be paid when Im over there, anyone know if I can use my card out there?

  1. Absolutely. In fact, I would recommend it, as opposed to taking alot of cash.  Keep in mind though, that there are many street vendors who will offer you "deals" and you will have to pay them in cash.  But they do take the US dollar so you needn't convert your money. Visa is taking at the restaurants, hotels, and stores everywhere. Also, most excursion trips can be paid with a major credit card, as well.   3. Of course you can use your card, it is a tourist island so they'll be prepared for all that stuff. have fun!! =)

    Yes you can use your credit card in the Dominican Republic. Just take in mind to have some Us cash with you to pay your tourist card at the arrival (10 us) and 20us at departure.
