Hi I am looking to buy a blackberry curve for t-mobile. I cant afford the blackberry package just yet for the internet and so on. I was wondering if I need to buy the hotspot deal or whatever to use its wifi. Could I browse the internet with it if I was in an area with wifi signal for free? Also, will my text message plan cover the usage of aol instant messenger? Thanks in advance.

  1. You can use the Wi-Fi on the Curve 8320 to browse the Internet when connected to a Wi-Fi HotSpot, and it should be free. You won't, however, be able to use the IM programs for the Curve as they use data to get connected.

What you could do is purchase a program called BeeJiveIM from BeeJive.com. Their chat program allows for Wi-Fi usage, so it should be free. The cost is a one time fee of $20 (for a single device license) or $30 (for a lifetime license). They also offer a 30-day free trial.

  2. check some of the BlackBerry forums.

i might be getting the blackberry curve for tmobile on prepaid..
