I never ever use the internet with my current phone. I don't have a data package and don't want one. I would like to buy a REFURBISHED Blackberry, but want to know could I occasionally use it with my DSL at home if I wanted to. I would really like to have a PDA/phone, is it worthwhile if I don't use the internet features, email, texting, etc?

  1. If you get a BlackBerry device that has built-in Wi-Fi (Curve 8320 and Pearl 8120) then you can use your Wi-Fi network to connect to the Internet. You can use the Wi-Fi browser to do so. However, you won't have access to push e-mail or BlackBerry Messenger even if you do this, as those require a data plan.

  2. To use WiFi at home, all you need to do is install a wireless router (I like Linksys WRT54G) between your DSL modem and your PC. Simple as that.

    Hope that helps.
