I downloaded a game to a CD when I still had Windows OS. Is there software that can help me play and install that game on my Ubuntu Linux? I'm thinking of WINE or maybe there's something else? Thanks.

  1. Wine is your best bet if it's a demanding gaming. Check the AppDB to see if anyone else has tried your game (odds are, they have). They may have some tips to get it working if it doesn't out of the box.

If it's a game that works well only on older computers, you'd best try an emulator (I'd suggest installing QEMU and a frontend, such as Qemulator. You'll also need a copy of the old Windows).
