I'm hearing a lot about this 12 V converter that your supposed to buy if you want to hook up your car audio into your home theater. Only thing is i have 2 car batteries and instead of buying more power, can i just use my amp hook up kit wires and run them to the car batteries positive and negivite stubies?

  1. yes you can,ive done it.But you first off dont want to set the battery on concrete (couse itll kill it fast)and some sort of alternator  is needed if you are going to hook up a big drain on it.Personally I was doing a 300 watt amp and the car stereo, and it would last about 2 days untill i recharged it with a alternator.

  2. not a good idea really, as a car battery is used,(charged or discharged) it produces a couple of very dangerous gases, such as hydrogen and oxygen, sure oxygen is fine but the two of the gases combine readily lot produce a whole lot of heat quickly. if you can find a way to contain the battery and vent those gases safely outside you might have a chance.

  3. i mean it will work but u have to keep rechaging and amps wont get enough they need without a cap.
