I have a pentax mv 35mm, I have an old pentax flash that is pretty much fried, and I was wondering what kind of flash I need to replace it? Can I buy one designed for Digital, and it will still do the same job for a 35mm?

Also same question for lenses, I was speaking with a rep from a Henrys when I was looking for a fisheye lens, and we hooked a fisheye designed for a dslr onto my 35mm. We noticed that we could see the top and bottom sheild on the end of the lens through the viewfinder. other then that it looked fine and he said it should be no problem that all I would need to do is zoom in a bit to avoid seeing the sheilds.

  1. The specifics for new models flashes is their integration into the DSLR's computer system, so the camera controls the flash.

You would need to use a modern falsh in a manual mode or use the flash units own built in light sensor.

If a lens is designed only for a the smaller APS-C sized digital sensor the image it produces will not fully cover a the larger area of 35mm film.

Zooming will have no effect on the lens coverage area, if it a digital lens then it has reduced coverage.

All Pentax DA series lenses are designerd for the smaller sensor and are not suited to the older film camera's
