If so, how difficult will it be and what are the complications? Time consuming? I need to cut out 5-5-5 triangles by tomorrow!

  1. I really don't think so. I've always used a circular saw with an abrasive wheel. Dremel Tool or angle grinder.

    Good Kuck!

  2. no.  you will cut yourself long before you ever cut the plexiglass.

  3. If it is the very thin type it will cut with a box cutter..  It must be less than 1/8" thick.  Using a straightedge and a new blade, mark two points on the line you wish to cut with the knife.  Then, firmly hold the straightedge and score the plastic two or three times..  By the third cut, you should be through the plastic, or deep enough to crack it along the line.  Be extremely careful your finges do not hang over the edge of the strait edge in line with the knife cut....If the plastic is thicker, a saw will be required, as previously suggested.

  4. How thick is the plexiglas?  I cut 1/4 inch thick plexiglas to replace the windows broken out by a hail storm we had last week.  I just  used a jigsaw with a fine tooth blade, it was very simple!!!  The trick is to measure,  mark it with a permanent marker, and I poured a small amount of vegatable oil ( the only thin clear oil I had handy) over the the lines of the permanent marker and cut it out with the jigsaw!  Simple fast and very easy too.  Beautiful clean edges and very smooth!!!  Leave the plastic covering on the plexiglass and the permanent marker lines won't get on the glass and the covering also helps prevent scratches while your cutting!!

  5. No, you much use a special tool for cutting plexiglass which can be found at your local home improvement store. You will lay you piece of plexiglass on a level table or something similar, using a straight edge like a ruler or yard stick, score the plexiglass then slide it to the edge of the table and pop the piece in half. Sometimes you can use a recipcal saw but you must lay your plexiglass unside down as not to show and marks or chips which can still happen.
