replace the oil burner with a woodstove. I have already taken out the fuel oil burner. The chimney is brick above the roofline. Thanks

  1. I don't see why not. As long as the liner is in good shape and of appropriate dimension.

  2. Considering the differences in flue temps between oil (warm) and wood (hot) you stand a good chance of having a chimney fire in a short time . Have the chimney inspected and you may have to install a liner as per code in your area. Remember , you are literally playing with fire and your life. Better to pay a few dollars now and avoid any problems . Or the other option is to just install another chimney separate from the old one. You don`t want to find yourself waking up with your house on fire , if you wake up at all.

  3. for wood , the chimney will need to have a liner and be in good shape ...have it inspected and they will be able to tell you if it can be used for a woodburner...

  4. well if a fire starts, put apple cider vinegar on it...

  5. I certainly don't see why not ; assuming the chimney is large

enough to handle the amount of smoke you'll be creating. No

matter what you decide, I would definately have chimney cleaned professionally before using it. Good luck!
