Can I use a free trial internet CD through the phone life if my parents have internet through there phone line

I live with my parents, they have a computer with internet on it. I have a laptop but want to try a free trial version of Netzero internet. They have there internet through thep phone, (EMBARQ) is there any way I can hook the phone wire for this free trial through the phone jack and it not counter flick with there service?

I will assume you are referring to dial up internet. You choosing a different internet provider will no effect the one the parents are using. As long as you do not try to use the internet at the same time (only one can connect at a time) you will be fine.

No.  You can't.

The phone line capability is already divided so that they have voice communication as well as internet connectivity.  The internet is always live on that line....the only way you could do what you want and have your trial is to disconnect their service in favor of yours.

Now, if the Netzero is a dial up rather than a DSL, you could do that...but why do dial up if you don't have to?  It's sooo sloooow!

Get a router instead and use their connection.
