I do not have tivo, but I would like to record sports on tv. I heard it is possible to get a hard drive. Is it possible to just connect it to the cable and then it works? and what's a good hard drive or machine for that that is not too expensive?

  1. there is actually a box out now called the slingbox. All you need is an internet connection. The internet connection streams video from your television/cable to your computer. There are NO monthly fees. Once you buy the box, thats it. And as it streams onto your computer, with the software that comes with the slingbox, you can record your program directly to your hard drive. Hope this helps you.

P.S.- If you have a high def television/cable/satellite service, they have a high def slingbox that will stream high definition television for you.

  2. Dunt think so.
