Can I use a heating pad on my back. I'm 39 weeks and 3 days...?

My back hurts soooooooo bad right now. I'm trying to find something to relieve the pain. I called my doctor and the nurse said the pains are normal, but I didnt think to ask about a heating pad.

  1. NO. Heat is not good especially this late in pregnancy. I was always told that. I'm sorry, I know you're hurting so bad and I feel your pain. Try to hang in there :( It feels like forever but it's not too much longer.

  4. when this happened to me I was in labor.  Tell your Doctor that you want to come in tom morning.  GOod luck!

  5. my doctor just told me on tuesday that i can use a heating pad for lower back pain. he said no more than 15 minutes out of each hour though.

  6. I took warm baths, it helped a lot! Of course not too hot, just warm.  

  7. no you can't, when you use a heat pad you up your body temperature and this is not good for the baby, you should get your partner or friend to give you gentle massage

  8. you can use a heating pad but only put it on low or medium heat you do not want to raise your body temp

  9. you can use a heating pad as long as you dont have it too warm and as long as you dont put it on your stomach

  10. Yes you can use a heating pad on your back just don't turn it on high and you will have to lay on your side while you use it and make sure it doesn't get to hot.  You just don't want to raise your body temp.
