Can I use a normal sander to remove some paint from my outdoor cement porch floor?

  1. A belt sander works pretty well with coarse or emery paper


  2. You can try, but I don't think it will work very well. Might as well try a power washer on it, but since concrete is porous, it will probably only remove some/most of the paint. The only other way is to use a bushing hammer on it to break off the top layer of concrete.

  3. Cathy, heres what i would do:

    1.  sand

    2.  paint remover

    3.  paint scraper, I have a jewel in paint scrapers

    4.  torch

    5.  chipper

    One of these methods will surely work.
