My aquarium is 15 gallon. I want to install a powerful filter, but is a powerhead filter that pumps 290gph too powerful? Will it damage the tank or harm the fish? Thank you for your input.

  1. It should be fine, but make sure you dont get long finned fish like bettas that don't like too much current.  They'll get blown all around.  Unless you make a blocker or something on the outflow.

  2. Yes it will be fine, the current will be good for the fishes gills. I wouldn't go any more than that though.

  3. Yes, the filter will be cleaning the water double what the recommended is.  That will mean less work on you for cleaning and scrubbing.

  4. no it won't hert the fish unless they get sucked up into it
