Question:

Can I use a queen-size comforter on a full-size bed?

I'm not going to be using a box spring. Also, the bed frame is such that there is a depression in which the mattress sits, so I'm going to be tucking the sheets into the sides of the bed frame. Will it fit? Will it be too much of a hassle to make the bed and tuck it in every time?

  1. Yes, defintely, don't risk it. Buy a cat instead

  2. Sure. The comfortor will hang down the sides of the bed a bit, but it will fit your bed more like a bedspread than a comfortor. I use a king size quilt on my queen bed simply because I like the extra length on the sides.

As for not using a box spring, I'd advise purchasing one as soon as you are able. Your mattress will wear much quicker without the support of the box spring.

  3. There is not much difference is size.  If you already own a queen size comforter, I would use it.

For a 54x75-inch full-size mattress, a goose down comforter should be 81 to 84 inches wide and 86 to 88 inches long.

A 60x80 inch queen-size mattress needs an 86- to 88-inch wide down comforter that is 96 to 100 inches long.
