  1. Although it is basically a field strength meter the frequency range is restricted, what you need is a meter with a broad bandwidth that covers all frequencies.

You can only use a satellite meter to align a sky type dish as it will only pick up the signals from the satellites broadcasting  these are sent out at set frequencies that the meter is tuned to not the digital signals sent out by the main broadcasting companies as they are in a different frequency range I hope this helps
