  1. no, it wont get enough air through it.

  2. and I thought I heard it all, are you serious?

  3. Your better of not using anything until you replace the filter with original filter. You don't want to use something that can end up getting sucked in into the engine. Also do not run without a filter for too long.

  4. NO! Please don't. It's better off to use the existing dirty filter and go get a new one. The sponge doesn't allow enough air passing through and your car would run very, very rich.

  5. yes - but the care will most likely not run, and if it does run, it means the air (along with the dirt) is bypassing the sponge, so you may as well get rid of the sponge.

  6. Get a regular replacement filter. The sponge wouldn't do anything except not allow proper air flow and possibly get sucked into the engine.

  7. you dont have 3 bucks to buy a new one drive with out it woul dbe better than a sponge.. which will most like be to think to suck air and it will get sucks into the motor causing you more problems than driving without and really 5 buck will get you a great filter and cheap ones cost less... and you can dive with out one for years if you dont live where there is a lot of dust.. it would be better  than a  sponge
