Can I use a used box to ship a package?

I have a microwave box that came with my microwave (duh). The box has the microwave pictures and description and stuff. Can I use that box to ship some clothes? How about other colored boxes? Like my mom has a pink Mary Kay box she wants to use to ship. Would it depend on the shipping service or what?

  1. u can but i would like take a sharpie and mark out the stap from last time u used it

  2. I work for the US Postal Service.  The box can be re-used.  Do not wrap it in the brown paper.  The paper will tear off and the address will be lost.  Do not use the Mary Kay boxes.  Those boxes are used for shipping cosmetic products which are considered hazardous chemicals and cannot be shipped by air in the postal service.  Make sure you tape the box outside AND inside, too much tape is almost enough.  Pack enough in the box so that it is full.  If it is not full the box will collapse or be crushed.  Enclose the delivery address on the inside of the box as well as on the outside 'just in case'.  Good Luck.

  3. i have 1 question for you!

       why would anyone care????!!!!!!!!!!

  4. the postal service accpect any box as long as its in good shape

but here a cation note  if you have to have a priority or express mail box((from the post office)

even if you turn that inside out and you mail it as  regular

or media mail  -the post office will charge you the priority or express mail rate for using that box

(you could use  fedex box and send that via the postal service

    with no problems

  5. USPS requires sealing it and removing bar codes (use a Sharpie). CLEAR address AND return address.Other than this it's good to go. I have NOT used a new box or padded envelope in years. Not cheap, just hate wasting ANYTHING.

  6. You can use it, but I would think you would need to wrap it with a brown paper bag (s) so you can write the addresses on there clearly.

  7. I'm not positive but my mother does a lot of stuff with eBay and will ship stuff out through the mail box and she says the only restrictions is to cover up the stuff. You could cover the box with a paper grocery bag or something like that and ship it. Although you do have to have the proper stamps or whatever on there. eBay provides that stuff so I can't help you with.
